The mission of the Haitian Health Outreach Project (HHOP) is to reduce the transmission of HIV and AIDS by providing culturally appropriate outreach and education for Haitians living in Cambridge and Somerville. Activities include recruiting and training Haitian community leaders, home presentations about HIV/AIDS and other health related issues, HIV counseling and testing and a youth program addressing issues of cultural values, self-esteem, violence, substance abuse, sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS.
